Dog Sniffing Mat 69x53cm Polar Fleece Avocado Shape for Training and Boredom Relief
This dog sniffing mat is a practical training and feeding accessory for dogs that need more mental and physical engagement. It works by letting your dog search for snacks or small toys hidden within the mat, turning a simple feeding routine into an activity. The avocado shape enlarges the sniffing area, and the non-slip base helps the mat stay in place. At approximately 69x53cm (27.17x20.87in), it is suitable for small and medium dogs, as well as rabbits. The mat is made from polar fleece, described as soft and bite-resistant, and it can be cleaned in a washing machine. It is available in green and other listed colour and size options, subject to variant availability.
Features and Construction
The mat is built around a sniffing surface that holds hidden food or toys, encouraging natural foraging behaviour. Its polar fleece construction is soft and described as bite-resistant, while the avocado shape increases the usable sniffing area. The non-slip base adds stability during use.
Material and Build
The mat is made from polar fleece. This material is soft to the touch and described as bite-resistant, which is relevant for dogs that tend to chew or nuzzle during play. The fleece surface is intended to hold treats or small toys within the folds, allowing your dog to search them out. The mat can be cleaned in a washing machine, which helps with regular upkeep after repeated use.
Size and Practical Fit
The mat measures approximately 69x53cm (27.17x20.87in). This size is described as suitable for small, medium, and rabbit animals. The avocado shape provides an enlarged sniffing area compared with a simpler rectangular layout, giving more space for hiding food. The non-slip base helps reduce sliding on smooth floors. Buyers should check the listed size options, as 48x38cm, 69x53cm, and one-size entries are shown.
Uses and Placement
This mat can be used for training, feeding, or general enrichment. It is designed to keep dogs occupied and to help relieve stress and relax. It also supports smell training and can be used as part of a weight-management routine by making feeding more active.
Event or Professional Use
For training sessions, the mat can be used to encourage scent work and problem-solving. Hiding snacks or small toys within the fleece gives the dog a task to complete, which can be useful in structured training or supervised group activities. The non-slip base helps the mat remain stable on flat surfaces, and the 69x53cm size provides enough room for small and medium dogs to work across the surface.
Everyday Home Use
At home, the mat offers a simple way to add mental stimulation to daily feeding. It can help occupy a dog that would otherwise become bored or engage in destructive behaviour. The avocado shape and green colour make it easy to recognise as a dedicated pet item. It can be placed on the floor in a living area or utility room, and the machine-washable polar fleece helps with cleaning after use.
Benefits and Buying Value
The main value comes from combining feeding, training, and boredom relief in one mat. It encourages sniffing and searching, which can consume energy and help with weight loss when used as part of an active routine. The fleece material and machine washability support repeated use.
Reuse and Low Maintenance
The mat is made from polar fleece and can be cleaned by washing machine, which makes it easier to maintain after repeated sniffing sessions. Because it is designed to hold hidden snacks or small toys, it can be used again and again as part of a dog's regular enrichment. The non-slip base helps keep it positioned during use, and the soft fleece surface is described as bite-resistant for dogs that chew or nuzzle.
Why Choose This Product
This mat is suitable for owners who want to train their dog's sense of smell, reduce boredom, or add more activity to feeding time. The 69x53cm size fits small and medium dogs and rabbits, while the avocado shape enlarges the sniffing area. It is available in green and other listed colour options, with 48x38cm, 69x53cm, and one-size entries shown. The source does not provide further performance claims, so the mat should be used as described for hiding snacks or small toys.
